Travel News March 2022
For the last 10 years, Procurement Australia has been working collaboratively with our Travel solution partner FCM to ensure that we are always bringing value and service to our members.
We are always eager to touch base with our valued members, to keep you up to date with what is going on in the travel industry.
1. Qantas switches on Green Tier.
Qantas Frequent Flyers will today start earning rewards for making sustainable choices at home and when they travel as Qantas switches on its new Green membership tier.
Qantas was the first airline in the world to announce that it would recognise and reward frequent flyers for taking sustainable actions on the ground as well as in the air.
2. Virgin Australia to launch new elite VIP tier.
Virgin Australia will reveal the new shape of its rebooted The Club VIP program on 20 April 2022, transforming the exclusive invitation-only scheme into a drawcard for companies with a high travel spend.
The move will shift The Club, created by former Virgin Australia CEO John Borghetti as a foil to the Qantas Chairman's Lounge, onto a more commercial footing which is both a better fit with Virgin's place in the market and will help it compete against Qantas for the business and corporate market.
3. Extend your Qantas status for 12 months with just one flight.
Since March 2020, Qantas has offered members a range of support options to retain their tier including status extensions, Status Credit boosts and the ability to earn them on the ground. They are now extending that support even further.
4. British Airways resuming its London to Sydney service.
From 27 March 2022, British Airways will once again be operating daily flights between these two great cities via Singapore. Whether visiting friends or family, starting a new term at university or school, or simply hoping to discover London's amazing shopping districts, world-class art galleries or the natural beauty of its many parks, you can fly in comfort with British Airways.
