“Success in procurement will be driven by CPOs and procurement teams who collectively understand social changes, technological evolution and the multi-dimensional nature of the procurement challenges to come…” EY LLP (2015)
In 2015, professional services firm Ernst & Young (EY LLP) described the people challenge facing procurement as it headed towards 2025. One of 10 key ‘change dimensions’ identified, this challenge involved the profile and mindset changes required of procurement professionals if they were to excel in 2025.
EY LLP forecast a new world, requiring new social skillsets, global mindsets, and analytic technologies, and declared that procurement models of the last few decades would not be sufficient to drive procurement leadership in 2025.
